Gardunha Mountain Range
Located in Beira Baixa, with its 1227 meters of altitude, it sits between the Douro and Tejo massive and the Pônsul and Zêzere rivers. In this mountain the river Ocreza is born, on of the affluents of Tejo. Arabs named it "Guardunha", meaning shelter. Gardunha boasts a biological and landscape wealth, filled with wild chestnut trees, cherry trees that fill the area with green, yellow and brown hues, in a very scenic route. It's the habitat of unique species in the country
Pena Waterfalll
In a corner made out of schist and very particular vegetation, right in the heart of the Margaraça forest, the Pena Waterfall reveals itself to the visitor through a lush landscape. Water sprouts from 70 meters high. It has a visitors area.
